Result: Styles retains the title after drilling Nakamura through a table (31:15).

Rating: After their previous WWE matches left fans underwhelmed, there was a lot of hope that this one might finally deliver. Basically it did, though it certainly wasn't an unqualified success.

The start was weirdly flat, with a sluggish pace and an oddly uninterested crowd. Things picked up significantly in the second half, however, with some crazy close calls (the Styles Clash off the stairs was especially great).

There was solid ring psychology throughout with Styles working the leg, but once again AJ looks like a moron for not wearing a cup in order to surprise Nak.

This didn't need to cross the half-hour mark, especially with the opening 10-or-so minutes being so lethargic. While it's still miles away from an NJPW-calibre classic, it was certainly the best and and least objectionable of their WWE matches to date.

It probably should've been Nak's time to finally pick up the win, though, especially with the (comparative) success of his heel run so far. 7/10
