WWE News On Erick Rowan's Significant Arm Injury

The big man will be out of action as WWE continues to deal with injuries.

WWE superstar Erick Rowan is out of action because of an arm injury he suffered during a live event at the weekend. According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Radio, it's a significant injury that is going to keep Rowan out for some time:
"He suffered some sort of arm injury and it's pretty serious. They said it was on Friday night, but he wrestled on Saturday too. He's out and it's a significant injury."
While it's not known what the specific injury, the fact that Meltzer would say that it's serious and significant likely means that it is something that will require some surgery leading to Rowan missing months of action. Since he worked the show the day after the injury, perhaps it was just something that he could work through, but then the doctors must have found that it was more damaging than he thought.
Rowan failed as a singles babyface wrestler in 2014 and into early 2015, so WWE paired him back up with Luke Harper to re-form their tag team. They looked dominant in the last few months and even did a "3D" finishing move that got a lot of people talking about WWE possibly bringing the Dudleys back. Now that Rowan is out, that's probably not going to happen. There was a generic news post on WWE.com about Rowan's status that offered nothing in particular saying "he is in the process of undergoing medical evaluation" and left it at that.
