Unfortunately, NXT star Javier Bernal looks set for a spell on the sidelines.

Speaking on his latest Twitch stream, Bernal revealed that he requires surgery after breaking his foot "in a few places". This injury occurred during the Javier Bernal & Drake Morreaux vs. Duke Hudson & Riley Osborne contest taped on Tuesday for NXT Level Up, with it happening when Javier caught an Osborne dive to the outside towards the end of the match.

Initially, the hope was that Bernal wouldn't need surgery and that he'd be able to rehab the injury, resulting in a six-week lay-off. Instead, he'll now have to go under the knife for a procedure that's expected to keep him out of action for six months.

With a college football background, the real-life Randy Beidelschies signed with WWE in 2021, making his in-ring debut the following year. As Javier Bernal, the 25-year-old has spent the bulk of his WWE tenure playing up his Big Body Javi persona as an arrogant heel.

From all of us here at WhatCulture Wrestling, all the best to Bernal on his surgery and the road to recovery.
