While the opening match between Balor & Joe and the Mechanics was a hot contest that set the tone for the entire show, the most exciting tag team match on the show was the last semifinals match between Gable & Jordan vs. Corbin & Rhyno.

This match had a much faster pace than both the one before it and the finals match that took place later on in the show, and a major reason for that is due to the impressive skills of both Gable and Jordan.

Both of these men have amateur wrestling credentials, which were on full display during this match. Jordan went toe-to-toe with the larger and more intimidating Baron Corbin, and actually managed to overpower him on several occasions using some superior technique.

But it was Chad Gable that stole the show, with his own skills on full display throughout the match. He executed some very impressive maneuvers, including a rope-hung armbar out of nowhere and a Chaos Theory onto the much larger Baron Corbin. When he did that, he got the loudest reaction of the show (up until that point).

If I was Triple H, I’d keep showcasing both of these guys as much as possible without overexposing them. They’re excellent wrestlers that could work well either together or as singles stars, and their amateur wrestling backgrounds will help them go far on a show that appreciates those skills far more than others.
