WWE NXT Title Match Set For Next Week
Kay Lee Ray coerces championship match after chasing Mandy Rose throughout arena.
Kay Lee Ray got the NXT Women's Championship match she wanted after stalking titleholder Mandy Rose throughout the Performance Center Tuesday night, setting up a title clash for next week's program.
Ray approached Toxic Attraction during their in-ring promo and put over that she was "the longest-reigning women's champion of the Modern Era" and dropped Rose with a punch, but she didn't get her match. Later, the toxic trio was leaving the arena and Gigi Dolin & Jacey Jane got into a waiting vehicle, but Rose's driver-side door was locked. Kay Lee revealed herself behind the wheel and abducted the women's tag champs.
She would return to the building and slowly chase Rose throughout the backstage area during the remainder of the show, including the requisite food fight, before returning to the ringside area where Mandy finally relented and granted Ray a title match for next week's show. She returned the favor with a KLR Bomb to close the show.
No mention was made of Dolin or Jane's whereabouts, as apparently NXT isn't too concerned about their women's tag team champions' wellbeing. Incidentally, the duo is slated to defend the NXT Women's Tag Team Championship against Indi Hartwell & Persia Pirotta at Vengeance Day in two weeks.
