WWE Offered Tommy Dreamer Lots Of Money To Close House Of Hardcore
That's one way to stop your competition!
Tommy Dreamer has revealed that he was offered money by WWE in 2015 to close his House of Hardcore wrestling promotion.
Dreamer revealed what happened during a media call yesterday ahead of Impact Wrestling's Slammiversary pay-per-view this Sunday, saying:-
"WWE asked me to sign a contract when I went back with the Wyatts. They offered me a lot of money to close House of Hardcore and I refused."
Dreamer's promotion has previously collaborated with Billy Corgan's NWA, Impact and the man himself even made an appearance in Lucha Underground recently. However, the hardcore legend admitted he's apprehensive about signing contracts with anyone.
He went on to explain that his experiences with ECW are the reasoning behind his apprehension, stating that fans always reminisce about the hardcore promotion and how great it was, but that his memories are sullied due to Paul Heyman being "in bed with the WWE" and the subsequent fallout from that.
Dreamer will face Eddie Edwards at Slammiversary XVI in a 'House of Hardcore' rules match after Edwards confronted him at a House of Hardcore show in Philadelphia to accuse him of sleeping with his wife. Dreamer, angered by these accusations, then challenged him to the match set for this Sunday.
