WWE Officially Announce NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III

WWE's new policy of booking four straight nights of shows around their "big four" pay-per-views all but guaranteed that NXT TakeOver would return to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn this year, given that SummerSlam is set to take place there on Sunday, August 20th.

The company have now made the news official, and as per Triple H's tweet below, TakeOver: Brooklyn III will kick-off WWE's busy SummerSlam weekend on Saturday, August 19th:-

This is the third consecutive year that the Barclays Center has played host to a TakeOver event during SummerSlam weekend. The 2015 show was the first time NXT had ventured out of Full Sail University for one of their live specials, and was headlined by a ladder match between NXT Champion Finn Balor and Kevin Owens, as well as an acclaimed Women's Title bout between Bayley and Sasha Banks.

TakeOver: Brooklyn II remains the best attended event in the brand's history, drawing a crowd of 15,671. It closed with three acclaimed championship bouts, including Shinsuke Nakamura's coronation as NXT Champion.

As per the announcement, tickets for NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III go on sale this Friday at 10am ET.
