WWE Payback 2023: 10 Things That Must Happen
5. The Grayson Waller Effect Is Short
Payback is admittedly a little light on star power, but throwing this segment on here was a bit unnecessary. It's the kind of thing that'd be better-served for Raw the following Monday. Yes, Grayson Waller has excelled in situations opposite John Cena, Edge and more, but his talk show stuff on PLE seems redundant.
It'd be best if this is on the shorter side then.
Nobody wants to tune into Payback and see Waller ramble on about Pennsylvania for five mins before introducing Cody, for example. Saying that, does anyone really want Rhodes and Grayson to get into it and then work an impromptu match? Again, that feels more at home on Raw.
Give Waller a minute or so to annoy the crowd, bring Cody out, and get the point quickly. It'd be hellish for WWE if one of Rhodes' skits played before "Boring! Boring! Boring!" chants from folks in attendance. Stranger things have happened.
