A report from Paul Davis at Wrestling News.co suggests that plans had been floated inside WWE to have Hulk Hogan appear at WrestleMania 36 and win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royale. The plan was scrapped due to the current global situation that forced the event to be held behind closed doors.

The news comes after it was suggested several weeks ago in the Wrestling Observer that Hogan had been set to appear at the event following his induction with the NWO in the WWE Hall of Fame on the previous night.

The plan was to find a way for Hogan to remain in the match without taking any bumps so he could eliminate the final competitors and produce a feel-good WrestleMania moment in his adopted home state of Florida.

Vince McMahon was reportedly open to the idea. However, it eventually became clear that the two parties could not come to terms on financial details causing the discussions to fall through. Even if financial terms could have been reached, once the severity of the global situation had become apparent, it was clear that the battle royal would not take place so the plans were scrapped entirely.
