WWE Planning Daniel Bryan Vs. Dolph Ziggler At WrestleMania 31

Two fan favorites could square off at this year's WrestleMania.

The booking of Daniel Bryan during Sunday's Royal Rumble match left a lot of fans upset. He entered the match at #10 and was gone in about ten minutes. He should have been in there longer. He should have won the thing if you simply want to listen to the crowd reaction. Instead, he was eliminated and we were left to wonder what's next for Bryan. Another man eliminated in the match too early was Dolph Ziggler. He's been frustrated with things in WWE and so have his fans. On Monday night after the Rumble, Ziggler did a tweet (@HeelZiggler) to express his feelings: "Yo DB, was pulling for you, brother. but if you really want to steal the show #Wrestlemania Im here & angrier #RAW" About two hours later, Daniel Bryan did a tweet (@WWEDanielBryan) simply saying "I'm in" and left it that. On Wednesday afternoon, Ziggler posted a message that he wrote on the Notes section of his iPhone talking about how he wanted to face Bryan at WrestleMania.
It was a very good message from Ziggler. He probably should have filmed himself saying all that to make it feel even more real. Then Bryan responded by saying "let your voices be heard." Did it all mean anything or was it just two buddies trying to rile up the internet? It turns out that it did mean something after all. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the plan is in place for Daniel Bryan to face Dolph Ziggler at WrestleMania 31. It was rumored that Bryan would face Sheamus, who is set to return as a heel in the near future, but apparently WWE is going to go with the face vs. face match of Bryan vs. Ziggler. It's a good move if they are given 15-20 minutes to have a classic match. If it's too short it will only upset the fans that want to see them more. A face vs. face match can work just because it's a battle to see who the better man is. The fans will be into it, so why not? It's a good idea. The other WrestleMania matches that are set to take place this year are Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns, Triple H vs. Sting, John Cena vs. Rusev, The Undertaker vs. Bray Wyatt (if Undertaker decides to wrestle) and Seth Rollins vs. Randy Orton. That would mean that Bryan vs. Ziggler is the sixth biggest or maybe fifth if you slot it ahead of Rollins/Orton. Maybe if Undertaker doesn't wrestle they'll do Bryan vs. Wyatt since they have a history. There are so many other deserving guys not mentioned, but there could be other matches including the Andre battle royal as well. Bryan and Ziggler actually had a match at WrestleMania before. It was WrestleMania 29 when Bryan teamed with Kane and Ziggler teamed with Big E. That was a win for Bryan and Kane, but it was not a really high profile match even with the tag titles on the line. Bryan and Kane won the match in under seven minutes. They also had a feud a few years ago when Bryan had less hair and not much of a beard. It can be planned now, but we know that in WWE things can change from week to week so you never really know until it gets here. For now, the expectation is that Daniel Bryan vs. Dolph Ziggler at WrestleMania 31. Steal the show, gentlemen. It's all yours.
