WWE Planning HUGE Feud For Roman Reigns At Royal Rumble 2021?
Roman Reigns could face a very special opponent at WWE Royal Rumble 2021.
Daniel Bryan is expected to challenge for Roman Reigns’ WWE Universal Championship at Royal Rumble 2021.
This is according to a new report from the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, who states that WWE currently plans on paying off the feud between Bryan and Reigns at the year’s first Big Four pay-per-view.
If WWE goes down this route, it’ll be the first time Bryan and Reigns have gone one-on-one since Fastlane 2015, where Roman defeated Daniel to retain the WWE Championship number one contendership he earned by winning the previous month’s Rumble.
Meltzer notes that WWE had previously tried to book them opposite each other during Bryan’s heel title run from November 2018 to April 2019, though this idea had to be scrapped when Reigns’ leukaemia returned.
Bryan recently fell victim to a brutal SmackDown assault at the hands of Jey Uso, who was operating at Reigns’ behest. He wrestled Intercontinental Champion Samy Zayn on last week’s episode but ended up losing by countout. Reigns, meanwhile, is fresh off defeating WWE Champion Drew McIntyre at Survivor Series 2020, and is expected to face a fresh contender in Kevin Owens at TLC.
