WWE President Nick Khan Is A HUGE Mark For New Jack, Helped Get ECW Legend In WWE 2K25 (WWE News)
New Jack was a surprising inclusion in WWE 2k25, but Nick Khan made the call

A WWE 2K25 developer has revealed that WWE CEO Nick Khan was directly responsible for the late great New Jack being surprisingly included in this year's game.
Jack will be downloadable character despite the ECW legend never appearing in WWE or any of the prior video games. Even during WWE’s ECW relaunch in 2006, the controversial star was never brought in, making his addition to the game all the more unique.
Speaking to PWInsider, WWE 2K developer Brian Williams admitted he never expected to see the controversial hardcore icon in the franchise. Even more unexpectedly, the push to include New Jack came from none other than WWE CEO Nick Khan.
"New Jack was a shock to all of us on the Visual Concepts and marketing side...someone who I never expected would make it into our franchise. It’s funny because it was actually Nick Khan who recommended or suggested that we add New Jack as DLC. When I heard that from my marketing rep, I was like, ‘Really?’ They were like, ‘Oh yeah, he’s a big fan.’ I believe he’s working on the paperwork to make this thing a reality. That was a huge surprise. Talk about a curveball—this didn’t come from left field, it came from a different game altogether!"
New Jack (real name Jerome Young) was one of ECW’s most infamous stars, known for his ultra-violent matches, unfiltered promos, and a reputation that often blurred the lines between reality and wrestling fiction. His controversial career made him a cult favourite, but also kept him a long way from WWE’s PG and Attitude Era products.
Jack passed away in 2021 due to a heart attack, making his inclusion in WWE 2K25 a posthumous honour that few fans would have expected. Williams also teased that Visual Concepts has “some really cool things planned” for New Jack in the game, though details remain under wraps for now.
With WWE 2K25 officially launching this week, fans won’t have to wait long to see how the company brings the extreme icon into the virtual squared circle.
