WWE Raw: 10 Things You Might Have Missed (May 30)
1. If 7 Was 6
Last week on Raw, WWE presented a graphic showing that there would be seven men in this year's Money in the Bank ladder match. Throughout the course of the show, five men - Sami Zayn, Cesaro, Chris Jericho, Dean Ambrose, and Kevin Owens - qualified for spots in the match, leaving two slots open. Alberto Del Rio became number six on Smackdown when he defeated Zack Ryder.
Heading into this week's Raw, most fans expected that participant number seven would be unveiled. Some thought that John Cena would be announced as the last combatant, while others believed he was earmarked for other things. Cena did, indeed, find a different storyline, but the seventh man turned out to be a major surprise: it was nobody.
The main event of Raw pitted the six men who qualified for the match against each other in tag action - Ambrose, Zayn, and Cesaro took on Owens, Jericho, and Del Rio. Ambrose ended up scoring the pin over likely MITB winner Owens, but the other news was that no mention was made of a seventh man in the match. At one point, a graphic for the MITB match was shown, and it featured only the six men who have qualified - there was no silhouette indicating another competitor.
It looks like the final decision has been made to only have six men in this year's Money in the Bank ladder match. Either way, the action will likely be off the charts.
