WWE RAW Review: 5 Things We Learned (May 19th 2014)
While we are still just under two weeks out from the next WWE pay per view, Payback, we are certainly seeing WWE trying to hold things together as their world slowly feels like it's crumbling around them. With CM Punk's shock exit at the back end of January, Daniel Bryan had stepped in to fill that single wrestler face role that had been vacated. Now Bryan is injured, possibly seriously, as he had to have immediate neck surgery merely 4 days ago. He will be laid up for an as yet undetermined amount of time, and now we are back to square one, with one extra problem: what does WWE do with the World Heavyweight Championship since the title holder cannot currently compete and defend his championship on a regular basis? Well that huge question was certainly answered this week, but that's not the real problem facing WWE right now. Again, this is the time of year where most things across the WWE Universe appear to be in a holding pattern, with little or no development in the overall story lines. Paul Heyman continuing to talk about Brock Lesnar and Wrestlemania XXX is something that is starting to overstay its welcome, and Bray Wyatt's now-rambling promos have delivered the same message for weeks on end. Nothing is changing, and we are limping towards the Payback PPV in several weeks. But there was plenty to discuss this week, so let's get right to it!
