WWE Raw star Shelton Benjamin has revealed he's currently out on the sidelines with an undisclosed injury.

Taking to Twitter, the three-time Intercontinental Champion announced that he'll be "on the shelf for a while". Benjamin didn't specify how long that "while" will be, nor did he give any details on what sort of injury he's suffered.

The Gold Standard was last seen on WWE television last month, with he and on again/off again partner Cedric Alexander losing to the Street Profits on the 25 April edition of Main Event. In terms of main WWE programming, Benjamin's last appearance came as an entrant in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on the SmackDown before WrestleMania 38.

More recently, the 46-year-old had to play down reports that he'd been released by WWE a few weeks ago. With those rumours swirling, the three-time WWE Tag Team Champion playfully blamed Mia Yim for starting up such talk. For those unaware, Shelton and Mia are good friends away from the squared circle.
