Alexa Bliss will defend her Raw Women's Championship against Mickie James at the upcoming TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs 2017 pay-per-view, as confirmed on last night's show.

General Manager Kurt Angle announced the match after James defeated Nia Jax via disqualification midway through the broadcast. Mickie was on the verge of putting her foe away with a Tornado DDT, but Bliss interfered on her ally's behalf, prompting the decision. It'll be James' first one-on-one title shot since returning to WWE in January, and her first pay-per-view bout since WrestleMania 33.

Last week saw the duo begin a divisive storyline based on Mickie's age, with Bliss referring to her latest challenger as a washed-up "old lady." This continued on Raw, with James gifted a pack of adult diapers from a "secret admirer," before bumping into Alexa and Nia, triggering her match with Jax.

TLC 2017 takes place on 22 October, and this is the only bout to be announced thus far. There is currently no word on whether or not it'll have a stipulation, but we do know that Asuka will make her long-awaited main roster debut that night.
