WWE has unveiled a brand new logo for this year's SummerSlam event that's directly inspired by host city Detroit.

Last year's bespoke logo for Nashville has been shelved in favour of a 'Motor City'-style motif; the SummerSlam 2022 branding had itself replaced WWE's longstanding logo for the annual pay-per-view. Now, it seems the company intends to whip up a new one for each year similar to what they do during WrestleMania season.

Fans online have already been gushing with praise for the fresh look, but some detractors aren't sure it's bright or colourful enough to promote a show called the "Biggest Party Of The Summer". Of course, WWE couldn't hope to please absolutely everybody with their new logo.

It is what it is.

Unlike last year, host city Detroit is listed on the branding too. That could be a new edict going forwards to try and fan more flames of competition amongst potential host sites for major tentpole pay-per-view stadium shows.

SummerSlam 2023 will be held on 5 August at Ford Field. Hype for the card won't properly begin until WrestleMania and possibly July's Money In The Bank pass.
