WWE Reveals WrestleMania Night 1 Headliner On SmackDown

Michael Cole says THIS will be WrestleMania 38 night one's main event...

WWE positioned the 'KO Show' segment between Kevin Owens and Steve Austin as the headline attraction during their WrestleMania 38 night one run-down on SmackDown.

Michael Cole referred to the talk show skit as the "main event" whilst he was hyping Saturday night's show. That's interesting, because most had assumed that Charlotte Flair's SmackDown Women's Title defence opposite Ronda Rousey would close out the first night.

Rousey has been telling the media that she's looking forward to headlining 'Mania for a second time recently. Perhaps WWE plans to circumvent any potential annoyance from Ronda and Charlotte by telling them that they're the main event by default because they're the final match going out.

Owens and the returning 'Stone Cole' will appear last before cameras fade to black though - Cole's run-down made that pretty clear.

This would be a first for WrestleMania. Traditionally, a "World Title" bout (whether male or female) goes on last at WWE's biggest annual extravaganza. In fairness, Austin's return to the fold is headline news. Few fans will grumble about it if the segment turns out to be a winner.
