It has been a heady year, but WWE 'Roadblock: End of the Line' truly did represent the end of the line for the company in 2016. The RAW-exclusive show was WWE's final pay-per-view of 2016, and whilst it wouldn't be accurate to say they went out with a bang, the show will have received at least a slight thumbs up from most.

The show was as 'WWE' a show as one can get, matches full of exciting action, frustrating finishes, an over-emphasis on story and the occasional moment of truly thrilling professional wrestling. We saw returns, surprises, a lacklustre main event and creative intrigue moving forward. It was WWE in 2016 in a nutshell.

The thumbs were slightly up for the show, but why exactly was this? What did WWE get right last night? We saw two championships change hands, although saying that one of those has a new owner wouldn't be entirely accurate. It set up a number of stories as we begin the Road to WrestleMania, with the Royal Rumble looking more intriguing as a result.

Here are 11 things that WWE got right at Roadblock: End of the Line. The unfulfilling kickoff show match is not one of them.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
