WWE: The Rock And NWO To Headline 2015 & 2016 Hall Of Fame?
Wrestling Observer Radio reports that WWE hope to induct The Rock into the WWE Hall of Fame 2015 class. There had been some rumours that the reason Scott Hall is being inducted as 'Razor Ramon' this year is because he will have his WCW legacy honoured next year as part of a NWO induction. This now seems unlikely, Hogan, Nash and Hall aren't going to want to play co-main event to The Rock. The NWO are big enough to headline the Hall of Fame in their own right, so a 2016 induction will be more probable if The Rock is focused on next year. The Rock is certainly an outstanding success story. If ever a man deserved a Hall of Fame spot it's Dwayne Johnson, his charismatic promos and exciting match style led the WWF to new heights in the Attitude Era. He was the definition of a crossover mainstream star. Success came in the form of huge merchandise sales, increased Raw ratings and higher PPV buys all linked to The Rock as a draw. His Hall of Fame induction will garner the WWE some sizeable mainstream press, so you can understand why they want to induct him so soon. Does this spell the end of Rock's in ring career? Possibly, but he's still young and able enough to wrestle at any point in the next decade should Hollywood success desert him. The NWO are equally deserving of an induction. WCW's success was built off the back of the innovative heel trio and they had many memorable moments. It has to be said, it's remarkably unusual that WWE have decided to induct Razor Ramon this year without his WCW days mentioned. The idea that they did this just so they could induct him again in the NWO is baffling. Nash for example hasn't been inducted as Diesel yet. So it doesn't really add up that WWE feel a need to recognise WCW and WWF careers separately.
