WWE Royal Rumble 2015: 10 Biggest Rumours

2. The Dudley Boyz Enter The Royal Rumble

Bubba Ray and D'Von Dudley have not competed inside a Vince McMahon-owned ring in a decade, their last televised appearance in the company coming in June 2005 at the ECW: One Night Stand pay-per-view event.

Philadelphia, host city of this year's Rumble event, is no stranger to the tandem. It was in the City of Brotherly Love that the Dudley Boyz rose to prominence as part of Extreme Championship Wrestling, a renegade promotion that introduced hardcore wrestling to the nation. It was there that they laid claim to the title of best tag team in pro wrestling and there that they developed the characters that would ultimately lead to their signing with WWE.

After ten years spent in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, it appears as though the duo could appear in front of the most passionate and extreme fans in all of sports-entertainment at this Sunday's Royal Rumble.

PWInsider.com reports that the duo was not only in talks to possibly appear at the Rumble but also for either Bubba Ray or D'Von to work as a trainer at the company's Performance Center in Florida.

The potential pop that would accompany the return of the future Hall of Famers would be phenomenal and, more importantly, would create an unforgettable moment in this year's main event.

More importantly, a return by the Dudley Boyz would inject the tag team division with some much needed life. After months of watching The Usos battle The Miz and Damien Mizdow, fans would have the opportunity to watch Bubba Ray and D'Von battle Jimmy and Jey in a war of the best of days gone by and the best of today's WWE.
