WWE Royal Rumble 2017: 10 Shocks That Could Happen
1. Another Phenomenal Debut
At the turn of 2016, nobody could have imagined that both AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura would be joining WWE later in the year. Just a few days into January, though, it became a fact, and at the Royal Rumble, Styles arrived in the company.
As I'm writing this, it's January 3. The Royal Rumble in 26 days away, and if the last year in WWE has taught us anything, it's that there's pretty much no way to predict what's going to happen in wrestling. Right now, Kazuchika Okada is the IWGP Heavyweight Champion. Next week, could he be a former champion on his way to the United States? I mean, probably not, but we would have said the same about Styles and Nakamura on January 3, 2016.
The point is that, when it comes to a true shock that will completely change WWE in 2017 and beyond, the ball is very much in the court of the company and whomever they contact. All we as fans can do is watch and try to pick our jaws up off the floor.
