WWE Royal Rumble 2018: Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best

The best Royal Rumble in years.

On paper there were so many ways for this year's Royal Rumble PPV to go wrong, so it's a pleasant surprise to report that, for the most part, the show delivered above expectations. At least as far as the two Rumble matches were concerned, anyway.

The rest of the card may have generally been a pretty ho-hum collection of bouts, but where it really counted, WWE proved they're not completely setting out to intentionally irritate fans, and made good on the awesome potential of two Rumble matches per year.

WWE fans are so used to having Vince McMahon's prized pet projects shoved down their throats, so for him to give the fans a reprieve during this show - even though WrestleMania's main event is still a foregone conclusion - was a major tick in the win column.

Mileage will vary on how the show was laid out and whether it really needed to be more than six punishing hours, but with a few tweaks, next year's Royal Rumble could be even better (though knowing Vince, this'll be the best one for quite a while)...
