Could Flair return earlier than expected?

The Wrestling Observer has questioned previous reports from talkSPORT's Alex McCarthy that there's a "0% chance" of Charlotte Flair returning to WWE before SummerSlam.

Now, Dave Meltzer and crew are claiming that Charlotte might launch at comeback in time for the 23 August pay-per-view and work a triple threat match with Raw Women's Champion Asuka and (the woman who kayfabe injured her on Raw) Nia Jax.

That'd then lead to a one-on-one title program for Flair against Asuka. Of course, this is just a rumour right now, albeit an interesting one.

Flair recently underwent surgery to correct something, and it was believed that she wouldn't be spotted again until Royal Rumble time due to recovery and various reality TV commitments. The Observer aren't so sure, and they wouldn't be totally shocked to see Charlotte return earlier than that.

They've got SummerSlam circled as a maybe for the 'Queen'.

This, if true, would push Shayna Baszler further out of the title picture. She once seemed poised to supplant Becky Lynch as Raw Women's Champ. Now, there's a slight chance she might not get to replace Asuka in the hot seat either.
