WWE Set To Push Naomi After Criticism

Maligned SmackDown superstar Naomi looks set to receive a push this Autumn, in response to the #NaomiDeservesBetter hashtag trending across Twitter this summer.

After returning to action in July, the neon-clad fan favourite soon found herself in familiar territory: gatekeeping for a series of arguably inferior opponents. Losses to Dana Brooke and Lacey Evans, combined with the abysmal Karaoke Showdown segment (which she admittedly won), painted a clear picture that Naomi wasn't set to feature in any grand WWE plans any time soon.

Indeed, she's won just two matches since her return, prompting the aforementioned social media movement - one which was supported by a bevy of her colleagues.

There's no doubt Naomi, a talented grappler and a model professional, does indeed deserve better at this stage of her career, and word is that WWE has got the message "loud and clear". According to PWInsider, though she was absent from this week's episode of SmackDown, the company plan to push Naomi in a "stronger manner" in the coming weeks.

What form this will take is, at yet, unknown, but we can look forward to a more prominent Naomi in the ThunderDome in the very near future.

He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
