WWE SmackDown: 10 Things You Might Have Missed (Nov 22)

9. Any Tom Phillips Contribution

A few weeks ago, WWE management decided to add Tom Phillips onto the SmackDown announce crew. Previously, Phillips had been a backstage interviewer on Monday Night Raw. Excelling at this position, the guy has a likeable manner and comes across as a credible reporter. Behind the SmackDown desk, he offers next to nothing.

Last week, Phillips only showed face to link between a few select segments. That continued on the latest SmackDown show, although it must be pointed out that Tom actually contributed far less than he had previously. It must still be considered pretty baffling that he's even there, Phillips rarely talks during matches and doesn't offer anything Mauro Ranallo couldn't handle.

Fans may have even missed any Tom Phillips contribution entirely on this week's SmackDown. In total, he only spoke on 2-3 occasions, and didn't give any essential information adding to what Ranallo, JBL and David Otunga were already saying.

Those who watch NXT will know that Phillips is a fine announcer, he's 100% wasted in his current role on the blue brand.
