The information contained in this post is a result of actions that took place at Tuesday's Smackdown taping in Houston that will air this Friday night. After weeks of speculating about who The Shield might be facing at WrestleMania, it would appear as though we finally have an answer. There was a multi-team tag match at the Smackdown tapings that saw Kane end up brawling with Roman Reigns. That makes sense since The Shield attacked Kane on Raw. What was interesting was that when Kane needed help, the team that came to his aid were a couple of guys that haven't played much of a role in this storyline: Billy Gunn and Road Dogg, aka the New Age Outlaws. Kane and the Outlaws beat up all three members of The Shield and stood over them as a cohesive unit. Those events from Smackdown will likely lead to the official announcement in the near future that will see Kane team up with the New Age Outlaws to take on all three members of The Shield. From a storyline perspective it works. The Shield were a trio that did the work that Triple H and Kane told them to do. Then they had enough of it, turned babyface and have gone against the wishes of The Authority. Since the New Age Outlaws are old friends of Triple H, the idea that they would work with Kane to take care of The Shield is something that makes a lot of sense. It would be shocking if The Shield didn't defeat Kane and the New Age Outlaws. There's absolutely no reason why three guys in their 40s and above should go over stars on the rise like Reigns, Rollins and Ambrose. It also looks like The Usos will defend the tag titles against both the Real Americans and the team of Ryback & Curtis Axel although that's not official yet either. It was set up on a backstage segment, so the details won't be known perfectly until Smackdown airs. Hopefully everything become official this coming Monday on Raw in Brooklyn. With just two more episodes of Raw left it's very important that WWE makes it clear what we're going to see at WrestleMania on April 6th in New Orleans.
