WWE Star Claims Unhappiness At Danhausen For Taking Key PLE Spot (WWE News)

Kit Wilson has revealed that "a lot of us backstage" were none too thrilled about the prospect of Danhausen signing with WWE then immediately being handed a segment on PLE back at Elimination Chamber in late-February. In fact, as Kit told Busted Open Radio, some on the roster "didn't feel too fond" of the idea at all.

Danhausen's debut went down like a wet fart though. There were a few scattered cheers, but they were sparse. Most of the United Center in Chicago either didn't know who he was or thought his introduction was just a little too strange for their tastes. Thankfully, Danhausen has gone from strength to strength since then.

He's sold a truckload of merchandise, and has become a cherished act across Raw and SmackDown.

Wilson admitted that the way Danhausen was fast tracked up the ladder of importance in WWE "gave [the roster] a lot of question marks". Of course, there was a splash of kayfabe to most of the things Kit said about Danhausen during his interview with Busted Open - he also went on to say that the gimmick "is more popular than ever" thanks to his influence.

Backstage, there were concerns that Dan was "maybe taking our spots". Pro wrestling is ultra competitive, and there's only so much TV time to go around. So, to some who had been in WWE for a while, it was probably alarming to see an incoming AEW oddity start in such a lofty position.

WWE/TKO won't care. They're interested in the bottom line, and Danhausen sells.
