With Cody Rhodes' WWE return imminently on the horizon, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful is reporting that those who he has spoken to in WWE are "very excited" about the American Nightmare returning to Vince McMahon's sports entertainment behemoth.

This comes hot on the heels of PWInsider's Mike Johnson confirming that Rhodes penned a deal a fortnight or so ago for his WWE return.

The belief is that, as speculated by many fans already, Cody will be facing Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 38 next month. From there, the three-time AEW TNT Champion will be a part of the Raw brand moving forward.

As it stands, it looks as if the big return of Cody Rhodes will be held off on until 'Mania itself. That said, that hasn't stopped the usual rumblings and rumours that Rhodes will appear on tomorrow's Raw, which emanates from Chicago's Allstate Arena.

In terms of the former Dashing's return itself, Fightful Select notes that there has been internal talk within WWE of flying Rhodes in privately to Dallas, Texas for WrestleMania 38. That would stop the publicity and likely leaked images of having the second-generation talent being spotted at an airport.

Both Cody and his wife Brandi officially parted ways with AEW last month, after both had reportedly been working without a contract since December. Despite talks for the duo to re-sign with All Elite Wrestling, said talks ultimately came to nothing. While Cody is set to return to WWE, there is believed to be no interest from WWE in rehiring Brandi - who previously worked for the company under the Eden Stiles name.
