WWE Still Has NO IDEA What To Do Top World Title Match At WrestleMania 42 (WWE News)
Triple H is reportedly still weighing up options for Jade Cargill at WrestleMania 42.

WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select has revealed that WrestleMania 42 booking plans for reigning Women's Champion Jade Cargill are still being discussed. Currently, WWE boss Triple H isn't 100% sure what he wants to do with pet project Jade on the grandest stage this April.
Creative team pitches for one-on-one title battles with Cargill include the likes of Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton. Of course, those women contested the same championship at 'Mania 41 last year - their feud was also spotlighted by some...choice shoot remarks from both on episodes of SmackDown heading into the PLE clash.
Stratton successfully retained vs. Flair last time, but her title reign sagged before she dropped the strap to Jade at the 1 November 2025 edition of Saturday Night's Main Event. Since then, Cargill has adopted a bullish character who believes she's the alpha female of the women's division across all brands in WWE.
Most fans and critics alike figured one Bianca Belair would be back in the mix by now following her lengthy injury layoff. That hasn't happened. The 'EST' didn't return as predicted during the 2026 Royal Rumble show over in Saudi Arabia, and there's no sign of her popping back up as an active wrestler anytime soon.
That could change before WWE reaches Las Vegas for WrestleMania, naturally, but it's Flair and Stratton who are the frontrunners to work with Cargill at time of writing.
Cargill's First Defence Happens This Week

Somewhat incredibly, Jade is set to defend her Women's Title for the very first time opposite Jordynne Grace on this Friday's episode of SmackDown. The defence comes over 3 months into her reign as champion. Cargill has defended it on non-televised live events (vs. Michin, B-FAB and Bayley), but Hunter hasn't put the belt on the line in front of the cameras.
That finally changes on this week's TV.
It'd be a huge surprise if Jade fell at the first hurdle. Grace has done well in the rivalry thus far, but it seems unlikely that WWE will move on from Cargill without scratching the itch of matches against Charlotte, or that tasty (and sought after) collision with Belair.
