WWE Stomping Grounds: Update On Rollins Vs. Corbin Mystery Referee

Who will officiate Seth Rollins vs. Baron Corbin this Sunday?

Baron Corbin and Seth Rollins' second WWE Universal Title match goes down at Stomping Grounds this weekend (23 June), with the former Raw 'Constable' looking to wrest the big red belt from the champion's clutches after falling at Super ShowDown.

This week's programming saw Corbin attempt to name a special guest referee in an attempt at tilting the odds in his favour. He failed, though. A chair-wielding Rollins destroyed EC3, Elias, and Eric Young on Raw, who, along with the B-Team on SmackDown, had either shown interest in assisting Baron or gone as far as donning the black and white stripes.

Now, it looks like WWE won't be naming the official until the night of the pay-per-view itself, despite promising to do so on Raw.

This is according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer. He notes that WWE want to keep the decision a secret in order to raise interest, and with Corbin vs. Rollins set to main event the show, it could well be someone big.

While the lack of TV between now and Stomping Grounds makes this sound like a no-brainer, WWE could conceivably have used social media for the announcement.
