Then: Looking back, CM Punk was the kind of dude who was always at odds with WWE's decision-makers. He was cutting a frustrated figure long before wrestling Brock at SummerSlam 2013, but was still viewed as a big star who could easily flit between heel and babyface when needed.

Now: Punk is making all sorts of waves in AEW, and he continues to split opinion. He'd leave WWE in 2014, dabble in MMA, then return to wrestling by way of All Elite in 2021. A remarkable rant during one AEW press conference in 2022 led to backstage scraps with The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega, and a suspension.

CM has since returned and gets top billing on the newly-launched Collision weekly. Watch this space!
