WWE Tag Team FINALLY Reuniting After Over 500 Days (WWE News)

It's been some wait for this former AEW duo. They've NEVER teamed under WWE's watch. Until now.

The Lucha Bros are set to reunite under WWE's banner. Sort of! Penta posted teasers via his Instagram page suggesting that the wait was finally over for fans who'd wanted to see him team with his brother Rey Fenix again. He also said it's been "521 days" since he and Rey worked as a tag-team - that'd be a win over Private Party on the 19 July 2024 episode of old AEW 'C' show Rampage (taped on 17 July).

Technically, if he'd been announcing a match imminently for October, then Penta's math would've been way off. He's excited, and rightly so, but there's more to the story. Although it seemed at one point like WWE boss Triple H might never let the Bros team up under his watch, Luchablog reports that Penta and Fenix will actually work as a tag on the 20 December AAA Guerra de Titanes event that's set to be held in the new 20,000 seater in Guadalajara, Mexico.

That will be 521 days since the aforementioned Rampage clash...if you're going by the 17 July filming date and not the 19 July airing date.

Both Penta and Fenix signed on the dotted line with WWE at different times, but there's been a ton of anticipation about what they could achieve as a double act in the promotion. Maybe this AAA gig will be a springboard to more on Raw, SmackDown or NXT. That's a guess, and nothing is certain, but it'd make sense to try the team on for size at least a couple of times on TV/PLE.

Fans clamouring for some Lucha Bros action will get their wish right before Christmas.
