WWE Teases Major Women's Tag-Team On SmackDown

This WWE duo would surely be booked to dominate if they united to become a team.

WWE just teased that Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler will become a tag-team soon.

The pair ran into one another backstage following Ronda's 'Fatal 5-Way' win over Sonya Deville, Xia Li, Natalya and Lacey Evans on Friday's episode of SmackDown. That confirmed Rousey as the number one contender for Liv Morgan's SmackDown Women's Title, and the pair will collide (again) at Extreme Rules on 8 October.

During the skit, Baszler congratulated Ronda on ripping through the competition, then encouraged her to destroy Liv. Replying, Rousey said that Shayna must still be hurting from her loss on Clash At The Castle, but to call her up when she fancied running the show.

Interesting.

There are certainly worse ideas on the table than presenting Rousey and Baszler as MMA badasses who plan to wreck shop and dominate the Women's Tag-Team Title division. That could rescue the belts, because they're already struggling for relevance due to the thrown-together 'odd couple' nature of current champs Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah.

Could Ronda and Shayna be the pairing Triple H needs to give the much-maligned titles some much-needed credibility? Stranger things have happened.
