The Kabuki Warriors could be set to collide in a huge WWE Raw Women's Championship match - provided Asuka can get past SmackDown's Sasha Banks at The Horror Show at Extreme Rules this Sunday.
Asuka vs. Kairi Sane was teased on last night's episode of Raw Talk. The interview went down in the aftermath of the Kabuki Warriors' Women's Tag Team Title loss to Bayley and Sasha Banks, in which Kairi took the pin. Sane said that if Asuka defeats 'The Boss' at the weekend, she will be "ready for Asuka," and her desire to face 'The Empress of Tomorrow' was reciprocated, with the champ hugging her partner, saying she'd like to face her.
Sane vs. Asuka has previously been rumoured as a potential "farewell" match for Kairi, with SummerSlam 2020 (23 August) suggested. It is expected that Kairi will leave WWE to return to her native Japan once her current contract expires next month. This is far from certain, however, as the latest reports suggest that WWE will return with an improved offer, having previously tried to install her as a Japanese ambassador.
Whatever happens with her going forward, the singles match should be tremendous.
