1. The Lack Of A Big Spot

We have detailed that the TLC match type actually hurt the main event's prestige, but as WWE were running with this concept they should have at least delivered the essential of any gimmick match - the one big spot. Unfortunately it never came. The action was all pretty tame. The table crashes were soft and the deliberate stalling to hit the chair shots to the back really damaged the suspension of disbelief. Cena and Orton were very protective of each other. There was very little risk and while some spots such as the steel steps to the head were painful, it failed to deliver the stunning visual this match needed. TLC matches of the past have stood out with a crash and burn tumble or a crazy dive, but at TLC 2013 it was more along the lines of slow descents from the ladders. As a back and forth contest it was decent. The spot with the ring ropes was interesting albeit not awe inspiring. I just couldn't help but to remember when Cena FU'd Edge off the top of a ladder through two tables many years back. One spot like this here could have made this a match to remember ... instead it will be pretty much forgotten by this time next year.
