WWE Unhappy With SummerSlam 2022?
WWE's 30 July premium live event reportedly drawing poor response backstage.
WWE officials are reportedly unhappy with their own SummerSlam 2022 lineup.
WrestleVotes tweeted as much on Tuesday, stating that the people who put the 30 July premium live event together don't like its complexion:-
In the most WWE of ways, I had a source tell me this morning “they really don’t like the SummerSlam card” “They” being the people who put it together. Um, what?!
Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns will headline SummerSlam opposite Brock Lesnar, with the duo set to contest a Last Man Standing match. Announced in June, this will be their third high-profile match in nine months, having last wrestled on WrestleMania 38's second night (3 April).
Other big matches include Liv Morgan's SmackDown Women's Championship defence against Ronda Rousey, Raw Women's Champion Bianca Belair vs. Becky Lynch, and Logan Paul vs. The Miz. On paper, Riddle vs. Seth Rollins and The Usos vs. The Street Profits appear to tick the workrate boxes.
SummerSlam 2022 takes place in Nashville, Tennessee's Nissan Stadium. Per WrestleTix's last count (13 July), 30,161 of the 36,259 tickets made available have been sold, leaving 6,098 on sale. Last year's event attracted a reported 45,960 fans to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
