After a convoluted series of twists and turns, Mustafa Ali will challenge Theory for the United States Championship at Hell in a Cell on Sunday.

Ali returned to WWE several weeks ago after spending months on the sidelines asking for his release from the company. The request wasn't granted, so he showed up and entered into an angle with Miz and Theory, presumably centring on the US title. Thus far, he's been screwed over in his attempts to get a title match.

Ali faced Ciampa in a championship contender's match on Raw, where if he won, he'd get a future title match. The two barely got out of second gear when Theory jumped up from commentary and interfered, causing a DQ win for Ali, which meant that Mustafa would get his title match. But Theory continued his beatdown, then announced that he was going to have the title match right then and there.

As could be predicted, Ali insisted on going through with the match despite being injured, and he lost in short order. But just when you thought this was it, Adam Pearce announced that Mr. McMahon had booked a rematch for Hell in a Cell so there would be a fair title bout.

The booking seems a bit odd, with Theory's "brilliant" plan of causing a DQ backfiring when McMahon ordered a rematch for Sunday.
