WWE Wants To Sign Top, TOP Wrestler From Competitors

WWE has a firm, heavy interest in signing Will Ospreay once the New Japan Pro Wrestling standout becomes a free agent in February 2024.

Fightful Select reports on WWE's "heavy interest" in the 30-year-old. Company sources have indicated that there has been contact between the two parties, though those on Ospreay's side wouldn't confirm this.

Beyond WWE, TNA and AEW are also interested in acquiring Ospreay. Some in the latter promotion have - according to recent, non-Fightful reports - considered Will joining AEW a "foregone conclusion" at one stage. Fightful notes, however, that "... Ospreay's mind has opened up about his future."

NJPW sources have stated that although they'd love to retain Ospreay, they wouldn't expect it to be on a deal similar to his current agreement - a full-time contract with the 'King of Sports.'

There is currently no word on the extent of WWE's advances towards Ospreay, though people within WWE have indicated "preliminary overtures" have been made.
