WWE WrestleMania 29: The Rock Says His Match With John Cena May Have Been His Last
After headlining in another WrestleMania main-event with John Cena, The Rock was reported to have torn his abdominal and abductor muscles, whilst also suffering a hernia by the end of the match. This left him to fly home Miami the day after to have his injury examined. Now after weeks of speculation of what really happened between The Rock and WWE, new details emerge as the Rock would talk to Hot 97s Peter Rosenberg. He was asked if WrestleMania 29 was his last match, to which he replied:
Possibly, to be honest with youHe then said:
The goal three years ago was I saw down with Vince McMahon and strategized about it; about three WrestleManias back to back I committed myself to the company and I was very proud of that moment. It didnt matter if I lost or I did the job, but it was an honour to do the honours. There is no better way to give backthen by doing the honoursHe also stated that John Cena was the right guy to lose to and was also asked if the original plan was to build for a "rubber match" with John Cena for next year's Wrestlemania at New Orlean. Not not at all. The Rock would reveal the original plan for Wrestlemania 30, by saying:
The original plan was possibly Brock and myself. That was the next thing that made sense to me because I love Brock, weve been friends for over a decade now and we can have a great athletic match. But then I had torn my two tendons on my pelvis and I had to fly home that day, and we couldnt do what we wanted to do on Raw that day. So possibly, possibly with Brock down the road. You can listen to the full interview here.
