WWE WrestleMania 33 Orlando Update
Mania could be returning to Florida.
WWE WrestleMania 33 could be heading to Orlando, Florida in 2017. The Miami Herald recently interviewed Orlando Venues Executive Director Allen Johnson, and he was very upbeat about the WWE's potential return. Johnson is responsible for the Citrus Bowl and other major Orlando venues. He said I think were ready for it. Were prepared whatever year they decide to come back. Were ready for them, and we now have the infrastructure in place to accommodate it much better than before, and they know that. They've toured the stadium. They've been here and seen what we now are capable of versus what we were capable of." The Citrus Bowl has had $207 million worth of improvements since last hosting WrestleMania 24 in 2008. It is a 70,000 plus seater stadium, with WWE likely able to fill it far beyond the 74,635 they claimed to have drawn in 08. Orlando would be a popular choice with fans for WrestleMania 33. It is an easy location for finding flights and accommodation, and has the bonus of feeling more like a holiday with all the theme parks and tourist attractions. Nothing against Dallas, but it doesn't really have that same vacation value as an Orlando WrestleMania. A possible main event for WrestleMania 33 is John Cena versus The Undertaker. It had been pencilled in for this year, but with Cena out injured, it looks like Taker will stick around for the match at 2017's extravaganza.
