WWE have confirmed that WrestleMania 36 will be hosted at Tampa Bay's Raymond James Stadium in April 2020.

The news was first reported by the Tampa Bay Times, who lauded the efforts of the city's Sports Commissioner Rob Higgins in finally bagging the big one for the area.

Home of NFL franchise the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Raymond James Stadium - known locally as the 'Ray Jay' - is configured for just over 65,000 fans when hosting football. That capacity can be increased for other events, with the venue recording a record 72,000 attendance for a U2 gig back in 2009.

That said, whatever crowd WWE draw, you can be certain they'll add a bit on the top.

The stadium will also play host to Tampa Bay's XFL franchise when the league kicks off for a second time in 2020.

WrestleMania 36 will mark the fourth time in twelve years that WWE have brought their flagship show to the state of Florida. Orlando's Camping World Stadium was the home of both WrestleMania XXIV and 33, whilst Miami's Sun Life Stadium played host to John Cena's battle with The Rock back in 2012.

With WWE's Performance Center based in Winter Park, FL, the state has very much became a second home for the company in recent years.

A 'star-studded' press conference revealing further details about the show is scheduled for 11AM ET.
