Austin Theory vs John Cena took top billing on the graphics WWE used to unveil its complete Saturday and Sunday lineups for WrestleMania 39 yesterday, but the United States Championship tussle is not set to headline on 1 April.

An ESPN analyst had also referred to Theory vs. Cena as the "main event" was the lineups were unveiled, creating further speculation. This was despite WWE confirming that the bout would open WrestleMania 39's first night during this week's episode of Raw.

Fightful Select has since confirmed that the bout is, indeed, the opener.

As far as the main event goes, The Usos vs. Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens remains the popular choice amongst wrestling fans. The Undisputed Tag Team Championship match is a foundational part of the most important storyline in the promotion, it's over, and the stakes are extremely high, hence the clamour. WWE may opt instead for SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley, however, as has been reported.

WrestleMania 39's second night is a much less complicated affair. Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reign defends against Cody Rhodes in what many regard as the best-built 'Mania headliner in years.
