WWE WrestleMania Backlash 2022: Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best
1. Cody Rhodes Vs. Seth Rollins
Result: Cody scores the win by rolling Rollins up and holding the tights (20:45).
Rating: As if there was any doubt after their WrestleMania match, this just confirmed the incredible chemistry Cody and Seth share.
It was a great opener and arguably even better than their Mania match, while the screwy finish sets up a near-inevitable third match at Hell in a Cell.
Having Cody win two straight matches was certainly an interesting choice and shows nothing if not confidence in him moving forward, even with Cody grabbing the tights to get it done (after Seth tried to do the very same).
This was a brilliantly technical and dynamic, main event-caliber contest that got the event off to one hell of a start and set a high bar for everything else to follow.
The big highlight, though it's tough to pick just one moment, was surely Cody countering the Falcon Arrow into a Cross Rhodes. Excellent stuff. 8/10
