Asuka has revealed that she recently underwent dental surgery after a wayward Shayna Baszler kick sent at least one tooth flying from her mouth on an episode of WWE Raw last month.

Speaking on yesterday's episode of Raw Talk, the Raw Women's Champion said that while she is still wearing temporary teeth after the incident, she had surgery three days ago.

Asuka was taken off television after suffering the stiff blow to the mouth. The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer reported afterwards that she had suffered a concussion as well as problems with her teeth, though Asuka returned to Raw a few weeks later.

Next week's Raw will see Asuka team with rival Rhea Ripley to face Baszler and Nia Jax, but not for the heel duo's WWE Women's Tag Team Titles. This goes down six days before WrestleMania 37's second night, on which Asuka will put her Raw Women's Title on the line against Ripley, who challenged The Empress of Tomorrow last week.

Asuka was quick to accept Ripley's challenge. They engaged in a standard WWE-style contract signing segment last night, which saw Ripley flip the table onto Asuka before Baszler and Jax made their challenge for next week.
