Before we get into this, just a warning that this story relates to disgusting footage of animal cruelty that surfaced last night.

Two-time WWE Champion Drew McIntyre is one of the public figures who have come out to slam West Ham defender Kurt Zouma after footage emerged of the France international hitting and kicking one of his cats.

In this footage, the former Chelsea player is seen throwing shoes at the cat, slapping its face, then kicking the animal across the floor. The footage was filmed by Zouma's brother Yoan, with The Sun able to obtain this incredibly troubling video.

For McIntyre, he was quick to take to Twitter and lambast Zouma for this incident, with the Scottish Warrior questioning how West Ham plan to punish their £29 million signing.

We'll hold off on directly posting Drew's comment, for it includes the video in question, but the full words of the Raw star read:

"I'm struggling to put into words how I feel about this distressing footage. Truly disgusting actions from Kurt Zouma who is meant to be a role model. No helpless animal should ever be subject to abuse like this. I would like to know how West Ham plan to punish these actions?"

West Ham have since moved to "unreservedly condemn" their player and state how they will be dealing with the matter internally.

As for Kurt Zouma, he has issued a public apology where he reassured people that both of his cats are "perfectly fine and healthy" and that there was no excuse for his behaviour.
