WWE Raw Superstar Ember Moon looks set to miss significant time as a result of an elbow injury.

This is according to the former NXT Women's Champion herself, who announced she needs surgery in an interview video posted to WWE's YouTube channel shortly after last night's Raw.

"Last year when I entered the Royal Rumble, I wrestled with one arm," she said. "This year was no different. Just sadly I messed up my elbow really bad and now I have to have immediate surgery. It’s hard to be here right now and see everyone competing and knowing I’m on the shelf. I don’t know how long but it is a while."

Moon lasted 52:23 in the women's Royal Rumble, second only to iron woman Natalya's 56:01. That she was able to last so long despite her injury is impressive, though she was barely featured throughout, and managed no eliminations during her time in the ring.

She isn't an immediate title contender, but her presence will be missed on Raw. Always one of WWE's most exciting female talents, Moon could've been elevated at the drop of a hat, so let's hope she makes a swift recovery.
