WWE still has this big-time comeback in the chamber. Here's what WAS on the cards...

WWE is yet to pull the trigger on Edge's return to television since The Judgment Day destroyed him and wife Beth Phoenix at Extreme Rules 2022 (8 October), though the promotion had big things lined up for him at one point.

WrestlingNews.co had previously reported that WWE planned on booking Edge vs. rival Finn Balor in a Hell In A Cell match for Royal Rumble 2023 (28 January).

Fightful Select has now corroborated that Edge and Balor were planned to pick up their feud upon Edge's comeback, with the limited dates on Edge's contract the reason for things being so stretched out.

In addition, Fightful notes that as of November, WWE planning on having Edge and Phoenix get involved at 18 February's Elimination Chamber 2023 show. There, the duo would have wrestled The Judgment Day's Balor and Rhea Ripley in a mixed tag.

Whether or not these plans are still set is currently unclear. Nothing is official yet, though both premium live event matches would fit the tone of Edge vs. The Judgment Day, given Balor and co.'s concussive, chair-led beatdown of a defenceless Phoenix at Extreme Rules.
