Despite having been wrestling for over 30 years by this point in time, Rey Mysterio doesn't have any intentions of hanging up his boots just yet.

The topic of Mysterio's potential in-ring retirement came up during a recent interview the Master of the 619 did with Ariel Helwani of BT Sport. In a chat that was largely to celebrate Rey's 20 years in WWE, Helwani asked the future Hall of Famer if he sees the end of his career in sight.

Explaining how he plans to wrestle for at least a further three years, the self-described GMOAT detailed:

"It's funny because they don't prep you up now like they do for NFL players. For wrestling, I've always heard from others that they go until they can't anymore, there's really no start and end date, you just run through it until you can't anymore or until you step away to do something else. For me, now that I'm getting closer to my fifties and I see my son wrestling, I tell myself that I want to go three more years and I don't want to go past fifty. But I remind myself, what happens if I still feel good? Can I still go another year? As of right now, my date has always been to not go past fifty."

Rey has most recently been teaming up with his son, Dominik, against Finn Balor, Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley of The Judgment Day on WWE RAW.

As alluded to, Mysterio has been with WWE for 20 years by this point.

Having made a name for himself in AAA, ECW and WCW, the high-flyer landed in WWE in the summer of 2002 and made an instant impression by feuding with Kurt Angle. During his time with the Stamford promotion, the 47-year-old has amassed three World Title reigns, is a two-time Intercontinental Champion, a two-time United States Champion, a three-time Cruiserweight Champion, a five-time Tag Team Champion, and has one Royal Rumble match victory to his name.
