Unfortunately, the Big Strong Boi looks set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

With Michael Cole announcing on this week's WWE Raw that Tyler Bate was currently dealing with an injury issue, it initially sounded as if this wouldn't be a particularly long spell on the sidelines for the Big Strong Boi. Unfortunately, it's now apparent that Bate is set for a notable absence from in-ring action.

Taking to Instagram, Tyler revealed that he's undergone surgery after tearing his left pectoral muscle, seemingly during New Catch Republic's NXT win over Hank and Tank last Tuesday.

As seen with other wrestlers who've suffered a similar injury - most notably Cody Rhodes in 2022 - this is a process that's a long road to recovery.

Where Bate's New Catch Republic teammate Pete Dunne is concerned, Fightful Select notes that there are plans in place to still feature the Bruiserweight on TV during Tyler's absence. As seen on the latest Raw outing, WWE appears to be doing something with Dunne and Sheamus - whether that's a rivalry or a mini Brawling Brutes reunion.

From all of us here at WhatCulture Wrestling, all the best to Tyler Bate on a full and healthy recovery.
